1. the treatment of leukaemia and other blood cell disorders especially in children;
2. improved retrieval and storage of umbilical cord blood samples to be used to treat diseases;
3. advancements in stem cell technology intended to improve treatment and outcomes in areas such as heart disease, foetal stroke,
   retinal repair, T-cells, immunotherapy and muscle and nerve repair
